A possible salmonella outbreak at a legendary North Reading, Massachusetts restaurant has forced the closing of the popular Kitty's Restaurant.

According to North Reading's Board of Health, they are investigating numerous complaints regarding the possibility of a salmonella outbreak.

The report says 39 people have filed complaints with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. Of those cases, 9 so far, have been confirmed as salmonella. It appears the problem may have occurred at the restaurant on June 23rd.

Officials say the food that is thought to have been contaminated has been identified as the antipasto salad and the restaurant's house dressing.

The Board of Health shut down Kitty's in order for a full sanitization and cleaning of the restaurant. According to Kitty's Facebook page, they WILL REOPEN.
