The New Hampshire State Police usually frown on car selfies. However, this social media challenge bucks that trend.

This week, the NHSP are issuing the Buckle-Up Challenge. They're asking you to post your seat belted selfie, from a parked position of course. This activity coincides with National Police Week.

Per their Facebook page, 37,461 lives were lost on U.S. roads in 2016, an increase of 5.6 percent from calendar year 2015. The National unbelted fatality rate was 41% in 2016. There are more than a few social media challenges where the police have had to intervene. However, this is one they organized, and officers are getting in on the action.

Make sure you take yours, and use the proper hashtags. Building awareness is key in saving lives. I got in on the action.
