Who Remembers Getting a Free Birthday Sundae at Weeks?

Remember going to Weeks Restaurant in Dover on your birthday to get a free ice cream sundae?

For many years it was the highlight of my birthday. I have to admit there were a couple of occasions when I would double dip and go to both the Durham location as well as the Dover location.

Of course the Dover location at the old traffic circle became such a landmark, everybody knew it as the 'Weeks traffic circle'.

Sadly, the Weeks restaurant in Dover closed in 1995, but the name lives on in the many people who's first paycheck was from Weeks, and also in the 'Weeks Crossing" intersection where the Dover traffic circle once directed traffic.
