For those of you that can't get enough of the controversies surrounding Maine Governor Paul LePage, NECN has provided info on a possible special session to discuss different legislative censuring options as well as a great 6 year timeline of his most outrageous comments.

There appears to be recognition from both sides of the aisle that the voicemail that the Governor left Westbrook Representative Gattine could in no way be categorized as acceptable behavior.

From NECN

Republican Sen. Amy Volk is suggesting a censure would be appropriate after she wrote in a Facebook post that Gov. LePage could be dealing with mental health or substance abuse issues.

Democratic party leaders said a censure would not be enough to address LePage's behavior.

"We saw actions from the Governor that really make us question whether he can perform the duties of his office," said Rep. Sara Gideon (D-Freeport).

Gideon and other Democratic leaders have written a letter to Republicans calling on them to take action against the governor. Gideon said if Republicans simply censure him, or decline to take action, Democrats will do something.

"There are a couple options on the table," she said. "Could impeachment be one of them? It could."

Every single day, this controversy seems to continue to bubble to the top of political discussions both locally and nationally. It'll be interesting to see what will happen from a legislative standpoint.

My bet would be on a bipartisan censure, I don't think that there is nearly enough support to bring forth an impeachment over a rage fueled voicemail rant.
