The Shark's 2014 Year of Service winner, End 68 Hours of Hunger have a couple of events this week we'd like you to know about. Join them for the Rotary Club of Kittery Auction on Thursday evening, May 8th  and help raise funds for Kittery programs, including "end 68 Hours of Hunger's Backpack Program, the Table of Plenty and the local food pantry. Wonderful auction items ranging from vacation get-aways, to landscaping, to restaurant and wine tasting events. Tickets available at the door, refreshments and live entertainment. Make it an evening out that will make a difference for others and bring you some incredible "bargains" on a wide variety of goods and services. See you Thursday evening at the Regatta Room! Tickets are available at the door. Being a hero can be easy!

Also, a food drive to benefit the End 68 Hours of Hunger program is looking for the public's help to "Stuff the Truck" parked in front of the Eliot Police Department until Saturday, May 10.

Food suggestions include small packages of crackers, canned pasta such as ravioli, nutrition bars, macaroni and cheese, canned tuna or chicken, individually packaged fruit cups and fruit juices, small boxes of cereal, and peanut butter and jelly in plastic containers.

The program puts food items in backpacks each week and delivers them to area schools for participating children to take home Friday afternoon.
