I'm a patriotic guy. I served proudly in the United States Air Force for seven years. While in uniform, I always stood at attention and saluted sharply during the national anthem. As a civilian, I still stand. But now I remove my hat, and put my hand across my heart when I hear the anthem.

Despite all of the politics surrounding players taking a knee or standing for the anthem, the song still gives me the chills. This video posted on the Boston Police Department Facebook page went viral late last week...and it too, makes me proud.

His name is Garrett. He's the son of two Boston police officers. While he may not know all of the words or have perfect pitch...I sure do love his spirit and enthusiasm. I'm certain his parents are very proud of him. As am I.
