Is the Government Really Sending Out More Stimulus Money to People in Maine, New Hampshire, & Massachusetts?
For many, one of the most memorable things about the pandemic were the frequent checks that we were getting from the federal and, in some cases, state government.
Referred to as 'stimulus' checks, they were intended to encourage people to spend money on unnecessary things like going out to eat, buying that new TV, or setting up their home gym. However, because of the numerous layoffs during the pandemic, these checks were often used to purchase basic necessities.
As the pandemic winded down, we saw the end to the federal stimulus checks. The final federal checks went out in March of 2021.
Or, did they?
You may have heard rumors that another round of stimulus checks are on their way. Are the rumors true? Who will be getting more money?
Who Will Be Getting Stimulus Checks in 2025?
According to CBS News, the IRS will be sending out additional stimulus money to some people.
The IRS announced in December that it would be sending out about $2.4 billion to approximately one million Americans.
Those slated to received these checks are people who were eligible, but did not receive one or more of the checks that were sent out in 2020 and 2021. These checks could be made out for up to $1,400.
How Do I Get My Check?
You do not need to take any action.
The checks will be sent out based on tax filings with the IRS.
The CBS News article explains that most of the checks will be sent out by the end of January.
