New Hampshire’s Story Land Announces New Halloween Events
Iconic New England amusement park Story Land is celebrating its 70th season in 2024.
Located in Glen, New Hampshire, the park has come a long way since it opened as a roadside attraction in the 1950s. Back then, the park boasted a gift shop and fire truck. These days, Story Land covers acres and features sophisticated rides, games, shows, food vendors, and even a water park.
One of the secrets to the park’s success is that the owners are always looking for ways to innovate and expand.
Every few years, the owners updated a much-loved attraction or added something new. For example, in the early 2000s, they added the Crazy Barn. For a while, it was the only ride like it in America. Later, they added the Roar-O-Saurus wooden coaster, as well as the Splash Battle ride.
Last fall, it was announced that the park would be removing the aging splash area and replacing it with a proper water park called Moo Lagoon. That new water park, which featured multiple water slides, opened in the spring of 2024.
A new water park was not the only surprise that management at Story Land had for us in 2024.
The park is typically open daily through Labor Day, and operates on weekends through Columbus Day weekend. Not this year, though.
A press release from the park explains that they will be extending their season through October with a series of haunting events.
Story Land’s Happy Hauntings will occur from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in October. Additionally, the park will be open on Monday, October 14.
According to the Story Land website, guests who visit during Happy Hauntings can expect:
An Interactive Fairy Tale Trick-or-Treat Trail
Pumpkin Painting in Cinderella's Pumpkin Patch
Halloween Shows with Villains and More
Bubble Dance Party with your favorite characters
Family-friendly rotating activities, including Scary-oke, Scream Contests and more
Additionally, the most popular rides will be open during the Halloween events, including the Polar Coaster, Great Baloon Chase, and train.
