When I was a young kid, I was great at school spelling bees.
I don't think I ever won one, but I was always in the top 3. Well, normally, I was in the top 3.
No matter how good you are at spelling, most of us have at least one grammatical rule that always trips us up. The whole 'I' before 'E' thing, for example.
Recently, the team at Word Unscrambler pored over Google search data to come up with the list of the most misspelled words in each state.
Here are the most misspelled words in New England
For Maine, it was the word Pneumonia. While we cannot be 100% sure, there is a good chance that it is the silent 'P' that normally trips up Mainers.
The most misspelled word in New Hampshire is Protective.
In Massachusetts, the most misspelled word was Beautiful. Yep, those words that use 'EAU' in a row can sometimes perplex us.
At first, we thought the entry for Vermont was a joke, but it isn't. The people from the Green Mountain State have really stepped it up. Vermont's most misspelled word is Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Clearly, there are some old-school Disney fans in Vermont.
The most misspelled word in Rhode Island is Cancelled. We have a feeling that it relates to the decision to use one 'L' or two.
The most misspelled word in Connecticut is Schedule.

- Separate - 30 000 searches.
- Necessary - 29 000 searches.
- Believe - 28 500 searches.
- Through - 28 000 searches.
- Gorgeous - 27 000 searches.
- Neighbor - 25 500 searches.
- Business - 24 200 searches.
- Favorite - 23 000 searches.
- Restaurant - 22 500 searches.
