It's mud season here in Maine and as we all know, this is the time of the year when things tend to get stuck.

You might get your 1996 Craftsman riding mower fetched up by the garden or even get your forest green Subaru Outback all sorts of bung up in the door yahd. However, it's not all that common to see animals getting stuck.

To be fair, this particular animal didn't get stuck in the mud, though it did get stuck during mud season- So, samesies, right? According to an article published by WABI TV 5, a wayward horse found itself stuck on a Maine train trestle the other day.

The news station goes on to report that on Sunday, train companies were notified to stop all traffic in Alton, Maine as several groups of firefighters were working to free a horse that had become stranded on the trestle.

Fortunately, by the end of the ordeal, teams from the Bradford, Lagrange and Alton fire departments were successful in their mission of freeing the fetched up horse. Still no word on exactly what led to the horse getting stranded on the tracks in the first place.

We're just thankful something worse didn't happen because, as most of you know, those train trestles don't really have guard rails or anything that would prevent a person, or in this case a horse, from taking a toss off the side and falling a hefty distance.

Next time you're thinking about walking on a Maine railroad trestle, hold your horses. See what I did there?
