This Is the Top Golf Course in Maine, According to Golf Digest

The state of Maine has some highly-rated golf courses that offer not only a challenge, but stunning scenery as well.

In addition to challenging layouts, some courses offer views of lakes, the ocean, or even mountains.

When it comes to the top course in Maine, Golf Digest released their 2025-'26 Best Golf Courses in Maine rankings in May.

Here's a look at the course that claimed the top spot in the rankings.

Boothbay Harbor Country Club in Boothbay, Maine

In 2013, the Boothbay Harbor Country Club was purchased by Paul Coulombe, who funded a $50 million makeover in 2015 and 2016.

As part of the renovations, Bruce Hepner redesigned the course, which, according to Golf Digest, is one of the best-conditioned courses in Maine.

"The course is aesthetically strong as well, with water features, flower beds and the Maine woods framing many holes. The course has plenty of elevation changes and is best enjoyed in a cart," Golf Digest says.
