Here’s 2 Awesome Maine Craft Stores to Try Now That Joann Fabrics is Sadly Closing
It's kind of wild to me how shaken up it feels like people in Maine are over Joann Fabric closing considering we're one of the most creative states in the world.
Maine doesn't breed the type of people that only confine themselves to a chain craft store when there's just so many other locally owned, craft-like shops to support instead.
But the facts are there and Joann Fabric will no longer be a thing to the world shortly so I figured I'd give you some awesome creative alternatives that you may find to be even better!

The Maine Souvenir Shop
Awe, I truly love this little local shop. Their store front is right off Commercial St. which is the main road downtown so it's super easy to find.
Everything here feels super Maine-oriented which in my opinion is their beauty. They must be doing something right to have gotten a visit from Impractical Joker's own, Sal Vulcano.
It's always cool to support local in this state so anytime I get a chance to do so, I will. Here's their website if you're interested in a visit!
Pinecone and Chickadee
Adorable. Just friggen adorable this place is. They have the cutest selection of pins and accessories that a craft connoisseur would absolutely adore.
They're right on Free St. in Portland with the most colorful inventory that's easily spotted through their roadside windows.
They're also female owned and operated which automatically puts them at the top of my list #womenempowerment.
Pinecone & Chickadee has been a staple downtown for quite some time and I love stopping in before I head home from work since it's right across from my building.
So fun! If you've got your own local favorite craft store I should check out let me know in the comment section.
