9 Maine Restaurants That Opened Their Doors in December 2025

What better way to mark the closing of the year than with the opening of something new?

December 2025 saw more restaurants debut in Maine, offering pizza, Mexican, Indian, Japanese, BBQ and more.

Once again, the Pine Tree State gets a nice variety of freshness to choose from when it comes to good eats.

Maine Restaurants Open in December 2025

One place that saw expansion with its second location was Bucks Naked BBQ.

The Freeport-based restaurant opened a Gardiner spot on December 16.

Like its name implies, you can find on the menu some delicious barbecue. You've got brisket, chicken, baby back ribs, pork and more.

In Portland, Aomori opened on December 8, serving up Japanese food, or as its website states, "northern Japanese flavors meet Maine’s seasonal ingredients, highlighting what’s fresh both locally and from Japan."

The restaurant is walk-in and seats up to 44, with the promise of outside dining in the spring.
