A Familiar Face Has Returned to Old Orchard Beach, Maine
If you're a frequent visitor to Old Orchard Beach in the summertime, there are a few rites of passage.
The first is the beach. You've got to spend some time enjoying the ocean air and feeling the heat from the sprawling beach.
The next is the food. Grabbing a slice of pizza and a box of fries is an annual tradition that people simply cannot pass up.
A third is the entertainment. Whether that be a day in the arcade, enjoying some thrills at Palace Playland or catching some music and comedy. That's where you'll find something missing this year in OOB
The Yo! Adrian Show at the Pier in Old Orchard Beach is Back For Limited Performances
For the last three and a half decades, visitors to Old Orchard Beach could count on one consistent entertainment option. The witty, crass and hilarious show known as Yo! Adrian at The Pier.
At the end of the 2024 season, Yo! Adrian announced that it would be his last spending summers in New England. He claimed that he was officially retired from performing on The Pier.
But so it goes for so many that "retire", you can never really get away. That's the case for Yo! Adrian, who has officially come out of retirement and returned to the Pier for performances on Friday and Saturday only.
Will Old Orchard Beach See Big Crowds This Summer?
While all the components are in place from the food to the entertainment to the fireworks, the question on most business owners minds is will the people show up?
According to WGME, American and Canadian tensions have been felt by business owners in Old Orchard Beach. Nearly 100,000 less Canadians crossed the border into Maine from this same time last year. That drop in tourism will be felt by mostly seasonal businesses.
Will that continue into the height of the season through July and August?
