A brand new chapter of American train travel is happening in New England, and it's really exciting. Amtrak is beginning to offer its first trips on the new fleet of trains called Amtrak’s NextGen Acela this week out of Boston.

The new fleet of trains will go at 160 miles per hour, connecting Boston, New York City, and Washington, D.C. This is huge.

Driving from Boston to NYC, on paper, takes about four hours. That is without traffic...and stops...and oh yeah, you have to drive. The new 160-mile-per-hour train, however, gets passengers from Boston to NYC in just 3.5 hours, according to the Amtrak website.

But the speed is hardly the best amenity when it comes to taking one of the new trans from Boston to NYC or DC. The seats in the cabin are more comfortable, the wifi is supposedly stronger, and the food...

These super-fast, technologically advanced trains start running on August 28th, according to a Boston Uncovered article.
