The latest victim of closure: Haps Roast Beef on Route 1 in Portsmouth, NH. But there is more to the story!

For years, Haps has been one of the best places to get a three-way beef in Portsmouth, NH.

Not familiar with the three-way beef? It is a roast beef sandwich topped with cheese, mayo, and of course...Jame River BBQ sauce.

Haps announced on their Facebook Page that they will officially be closing on July 25th.

Before rumors go spiraling about the price of rent in Portsmouth, and local businesses and families not being able to afford the seacoast...

That is NOT why they are closing.

Why is Haps in Portsmouth, NH, Closing?

For starters, owners Tyler and Amanda have a baby on the way!

In addition to the new addition (to the family), Tyler and Amanda are switching up their business model.

Their new venture, and step back from the Portsmouth location, will allow them to start bringing Haps Sauce, horseradish, and their other spice blends to retail shelves across New England.

And have no fear, roast beef lovers of Portsmouth, they will be passing the torch to another roast beef crew...more details to come!
