Even just driving through the Crawford Notch makes you feel connected to New Hampshire and all of its beauty.

Without a doubt, one of the most popular hikes in this area is Mt. Willard. It is a tourist trap for a good reason...it has the best leaf peeping spot in all of New Hampshire.

Many other incredibly popular hikes start in the Crawford Notch:

Mount Pierce (One of the easiest presidentials to complete, and a moderate "major" peak in the 48 4,000-footers).
Arethusa Falls: a gorgeous waterfall hike that attracts many eager hikers and tourists with the easy-to-find trailhead.
Mount Jackson - another 4,000-foot presidential peak starting from the Crawford Notch.

Most Underrated Hike in Crawford Notch:

It is hard to find a hike that is not mobbed, and that is NOT a 4,000-footer, in the Crawford Notch...But the Frankenstein Cliff Traill is a nice balance and arguably one of the best for under four miles.

The hike is more challenging than Mt. Willard, but the views are...Dare I say better?

And although the trail may be popular, you certainly will not run into as many people as Arethusa Falls, Mt. Willard, and other popular trails.
