The trailer of a truck was peeled back on Route 11 in Rochester when it hit low hanging wires Friday night.

The truck was traveling north on Route 11 around 8:30 p.m. when it hit the wires near the Ridge Marketplace shopping center, causing the trailer to become dislodged, according to State Police. The Troop G Motor Carrier Enforcement Unit took the truck out of service out of public safety concern.

The wires were below the allowed height when they were struck, and police determined the driver was not at fault.

The wires were phone lines and did not cause any power outages.
