Many winter sports enthusiasts are excited to hear that a very popular New England ski resort has claimed bragging rights as being the first to open for the 2017-2018 ski season!

Halloween is more than a week away, but ski and snowboard season is here...at least for 2 New England Ski Resorts.

Enough with the moguls, ramps and gates.  Bring on the moving vehicles, pedestrians, and busy intersections.  I've been able to catch some of the Olympic snowboarding events and they are entertaining, but lets add a new one.  I propose snowboarding down busy city streets as a new Winter Olympic event.

The 2014 Winter Olympics get underway with the Opening Ceremony on Friday night at 8PM.  Every free moment I have will be spent in front of the tube watching whatever sport is on for the duration of the games.  I love that there is always something on, no matter what time of day it is, plus international competition is fantastic!  Here are my top five must watch events at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
