New England has many foods that define who we are.  For example, New Hampshire has the best maple syrup in the entire country.  The Granite State also loves a good Boiled Dinner.

These three foods scream Massachusetts more than any other.  These are in no particular order, but they could all sit at the number one spot.

Boston Baked Beans

It's in the name.  Boston baked beans were part of the regulah Saturday night meal of dogs and beans.

B&M Brown Bread

Just like the Boston Baked beans, brown bread was a staple on Saturday nights here in Massachusetts and it's delicious.

I recently went to see my hairdresser and told her about the delicious brown bread that my Mother lovingly opened for me.  She looked at me funny and said, "She opened it for you?"  "Yes," I said, "it comes in a can."  I thought she was going to throw up all over the peroxide mix she just made for me.

I know I said they could all sit at the Number one spot, but if I had to pick a number one, it would be this one.

Fluffernutter Sandwich

Some call this a sandwich for kids.  A "treat" for children, they call it.  But I am here to clear things up right now.  The Fluffernutter sandwich is a delicious delicate treat for everyone, I say!

The sandwich, according to newenglandhistoricalsociety.com, was the invention of Paul Revere's great x3 granddaughter of Melrose, Mass.  That's about as Massachusetts as you can get.

If you live in Massachusetts and you haven't eaten all three of these at least once, you can't call yourself a resident of the Commonwealth.  I think there is a bill waiting to be put into law that says you can't get a driver's license unless you do so.
