This sign is 100% truth, and Maine's campers know it. Black flies are the bane of outdoor existence.

The Crown of Maine, a page dedicated to sharing the natural beauty of Northern Maine, posted the sign on Facebook from Gentle Bear Touchless Carwash in Saint John Valley, Madawaska which says:

"Camping in Maine: A buffet for black flies."

This is why I don't go camping -- creepy, crawling and flying bugs and the fact that I can't take a bubble bath or sleep in a comfy bed… And oh yeah, bears. No thank you!

The comments are funny. Aside from black flies, one person jokes that Maine's state bird is the mosquito.
