This morning on The Shark Morning Show, DK and I were talking about The Great American Bald Eagle because of this sad story out of Maine. DK had never heard the actual cry of a bald eagle and if you haven't heard it, well, I think you'll find it surprisingly wimpy. (It cries at :14)

At best it sounds like someone angrily working the business end of a squeegee on a window. The cry that most commonly gets misused for an eagle is actually a red-tailed hawk. You wont have to wait long for this guy below to unleash hell.

Don't get me wrong, I'd still prefer the eagle for our national symbol, but if we ever need a bird to front an 80's metal band, the red-tailed hawk is my first pick.
