Rochelle, my fiancee, and I are getting married on June 22, and among our stops in planning was to meet with the organist/piano player for the church where we are saying our "I dos."

We are fairly traditional, but we did have some out of the box ideas for the mass we'd like played: "The Wedding Song" by Paul Stookey of Peter Paul and Mary, "Let It Be" by The Beatles and "Make You Feel My Love" by Bob Dylan.

We were looking for only piano renditions for the various points in the church ceremony, and the player was fine with Paul Stookey and Dylan but balked at The Beatles, a song which does reference "mother Mary."

Granted Sir Paul was referring to his mother not the Holy Mother, but the overtone was clearly fitting to me, and made us laugh how strongly The Fab Four were rejected while Bob was just fine.

What do you think?

Are these 3 songs appropriate for a church wedding? Beatles less so than Dylan?

Did YOU pick an out of the box song at your ceremony. If so which?
