According to a story in the Union Leader, the couple found dead last Thursday in their Hooksett home was an apparent murder/suicide.

The story goes on to say that the autopsy result of the deaths of Donald McLaughlin, 58, and his wife, Diane, 68, of 39 Post Rd., were the result of gunshot wounds.  Mr. McLaughlin shot his wife, then turned the gun on himself.

I may be addicted to the crime shows on TV that we all see:  20/20, Dateline, Forensic Files and countless others.  I watch these shows all the time.  I wish this one wasn't so close to home, but that makes me even more curious as to what exactly happened.  What drove this man to kill his wife, then himself? Did they have children?  What't the background of their relationship?  I always think that there should have been a way to talk the guy (or girl) out of it.  What pushed him to do this?

From the way their house looked on the outside, the couple must have been financially comfortable.  What drove him to do such a thing?  Tragic story any way you look at it.

Pretty sure this one will end up on late night network TV.
