Bed Bath & Beyond, which has several locations throughout New Hampshire announced they were closing at least 40 stores this year.

According to CBS Boston, the New-Jersey based retailer of home goods announced the closures last week. The company also owns The Christmas Tree Shops, and World Market.

Along with the announcement of the dozens of closures, it was made public that the company also plans on opening 15 new Bed Bath & Beyond stores. The locations of the closings and openings have not been made public as of this posting.

'We expect to open approximately 15 new stores in fiscal 2019. This will be offset by a minimum of approximately 40 stores we expect to close,' Bed Bath & Beyond’s chief financial officer and treasurer, Robyn D’Elia, said.

The CFO also warned that even more stores could close, saying, 'This number will grow unless we are able to negotiate more favorable lease terms with our landlords.'

Bed Bath and Beyond has stores throughout the Granite State including Portsmouth, Dover, Salem, Bedford and Plaistow.
