Beloved Clam Bar on Route 125 Opening Again

Larry's Clam Bar in Plaistow is re-opening, but with a different name, according to a story from the Union Leader.  

Larry's Clam Bar has been for sale for years.  Larry, now deceased, put the beloved place up for sale in 2016.  Bob Pagliarulo purchased the location two weeks ago.  Bob also owns the Saddle Up Saloon in Kingston, which is doing really well despite the pandemic and restaurants, in general, having a hard time hiring people.

Commuters Are Expressing Their Excitement

The new owner has heard cars honking their horns on Route 125 where the clam hut is located to show appreciation for its return which is expected to be in late July.

Not Everything Will Be as it Used To Be

 

There are a couple of things that will not be like they used to be.  For instance, Bob is unable to use Larry's name, so it will be named, "The Clam Bar," no Larry.  Also, "Larry's Egg Machine" will not be there.

Remember Larry's Egg Machine?

If you're not familiar with "Larry's Egg Machine," it was so fun.  You would put in a quarter and a cackling hen would drop a plastic egg filled with cool prizes.  I put a lot of money into that thing when my son was little just to hear him giggle at the cackling hen.  According to Larry's Clam Bar Facebook page, it sounds like Larry's family has kept that for their own memory of Larry himself.

Will The Clam Bar Still Have Ice Cream?

Yes!  The Ice Cream will be sold from a walk-up window outside.
