Burger King Wants to Make a ‘McWhopper’ with McDonald’s in the Name of World Peace
Could the long time fast food rivals collaborate on a sandwich in the name of world peace?
In a full page ad in the New York Times, Burger King laid out a plan, a truce of sorts, with McDonald's. They want to create a super burger by combining the Big Mac with the Whopper: and call it The McWhopper. All the packaging for the super burger has already been created by BK. Even going as far as creating a website: http://www.mcwhopper.com.
Burger King's goal with this seize fire is to generate awareness for Peace One Day, a non-profit looking to make September 21 Peace Day.
Unfortunately, McDonald's CEO feels differently about the collaboration. This post on the restaurant's Facebook page says it all:
Oh well. Good try BK.
