Cold NH Nights? Crock Steady With This Improved Recipe
It's supposed to drop into the 30's over the next two nights. In my humble opinion, nothing warms up the house better than a bubbling crock pot of spicy goodness.
Train's New And Improved Spicy BBQ Drumsticks
Put 10 chicken drumsticks in your crock pot and cover them with this blend of dry spices first.
TWO Tablespoons of Chili Powder
ONE Tablespoon of Ground Cumin
ONE Tablespoon of Garlic Powder
HALF Tablespoon of Onion Salt
ONE Tablespoon of Paprika
A few shakes of black pepper as well.
I keep on tweaking this recipe each time I make it so feel free to do the same. Over the years I've doubled the amount of Cumin because I think it's the best spice on earth.
I've also changed the Onion Powder to Onion Salt and cut back a bit on it (from 1 tablespoon to a half) because the next section has a good deal of sodium in it anyway.
I've found that covering each and every square millimeter of the chicken with the dry ingredients FIRST, is the best way to go.
One Cup Of BBQ Sauce
Two Tablespoons Of Apple Cider Vinegar
Mix these ingredients in a bowl. They'll blend eventually. Then coat your drumsticks like in the photo above.
This recipe calls for honey but, I really don't think it needs it at all.
Put the lid on it, set it on low and wait 6 hours. Honestly, 7 hours is just as good.
Maybe it doesn't look like the cover of a gourmet magazine but it tastes amazing.
Cranking up the heat with spice ALWAYS makes those cold nights nice!
