You may have been reminded of this test dozens of times, but, if you're anything like me, you've forgotten about it already. So, don't freak out at 2:20pm today, when your entire technical world starts in with the grinding buzzer sounds and automated voices.

THIS IS ONLY A TEST

As the time draws ever closer, I'm on pins and needles.

What if my phone isn't 'Specially Configured'?

Back on October 3rd, 2018 The Trump Administration sent out a test at exactly 2:18pm and that message is still at the very top of my 'Text Messages' page.

Will this new 'IPAWS' message replace that almost three year old EAS that has been pinned to the top of my texts?

These are questions that I need answered!

Unless of course, I once again completely forget about the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System test.

This morning, Sarah and I were reliving the terror we had as school children, knowing that at any minute, the world could be capitulated into apocalyptic nuclear warfare.

I suppose that is why I'm simultaneously obsessing over and repressing the 2:20pm test today. If my phone starts making weird buzzing noises, for a split second I'll think that Leonid Brezhnev has hit 'The Button' and I'll need to run to the nearest fallout shelter.

Since he passed away in 1982 and I don't know where any fallout shelters are, I think both scenarios are quite unlikely.

In the meantime, the best we all can do is remember that FEMA will send this EAS at 2:20pm today.
