Flags To Fly At Half-Staff Through Sunday For Senator John McCain
(Concord, NH) - Flags are to be at half-staff until sunset on September 2, the day of the Senators internment.
In his directive issued Monday afternoon to lower all U.S. and state flags, NH Governor Chris Sununu called Senator McCain and honorary Granite Stater and an American hero.
Senator McCain died Saturday in Arizona. His body will lie in state in Phoenix tomorrow, on what would have been his 82nd birthday.
His body will lie in state in The Capitol Rotunda in Washington on Friday.
A memorial service will be held Saturday in Washington. Former Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama will deliver eulogies.
John McCain will be buried at the U.S. Naval Academy in Maryland in a private service on Sunday.
