Free Snowshoeing and Cross-Country Skiing at This New Hampshire Vineyard
With so many things to do in the winter, here's a unique idea for you.
Flag Hill Winery in Lee, New Hampshire, is all about snowshoeing and cross country skiing throughout their vineyard for free.
While so many activities require reservations and planning, Brian Ferguson, the owner and winemaker at Flag Hill, says to come on by.
Flag Hill even rents snowshoes, so no worries if you don't own any. They have you covered.
However, if you do rent snowshoes, double-check before you arrive just to make sure your size hasn't been rented. And yes, you can reserve them.
Brian adds:
While we don't rent cross country skis, if you have them then bring them. Our vineyard and grounds are open year-round and we embrace winter just as much as the other seasons because wine never stops.
Just imagine a nice, casual self-tour around the grounds of Flag Hill Distillery and Winery. In all, the property has 110 acres with 18 trails. You can take in the fresh air and beautiful surroundings of this private, peaceful property.
Then it's fireplace and wine time to wind down, if you're up for it.
Brian said that when you're finished or ready for a wine break, they have "winter warmers." It's their mulled wine concept, with chocolate flavors as well as various spiced flavors of wine.
Brian adds that wine tastings are available as well, so if the winter warmers are just a way to warm up before you sample other wines, then go for it.
The winery also offers indoor tours of the distillery, so you can add that to your outdoor adventure warmup, too.
