Hampton Beach Speed Eating Icon Matt Stonie Places 3rd in Yesterday’s Hot Dog Contest

Yesterday, Joey 'Jaws' Chestnut won his TENTH Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Championship. Only one man has bested Chestnut in the last decade and that man has spent many summers here on Hampton Beach.

Matt 'Megatoad' Stonie is 25 years old and discovered his ability to consume massive quantities of food at The 2010 Hampton Beach Lobster Roll Eating Contest in which he won at Age 18.

Mr. Stonie, a Californian, had spent nearly every summer of his childhood with his Grandparents and therefore I think that he qualifies as a New Englander!

He placed 3rd yesterday by polishing off 48 hot dogs and buns in under in 10 minutes.

Mr. Chestnut broke the record with an astonishing 72 (SEVENTY TWO) hot dogs and buns consumed.

I love catching up with 'Megatoad' on his YouTube channel as he is ALWAYS entertaining and his eating style is NEVER disgusting despite the inhuman and inhumane amounts of food he crams into his 125 pound body in such a limited amount of time.
