Heavy Rain, High Winds Knock Out Power to Over 270,000 in NH

Local authorities across the Granite State and most of New England were kept busy with numerous road closures and several reports of downed trees and power lines, due to the storm that rolled through New England last night.

Heavy winds and rain caused over 270,000 people throughout New Hampshire to lose power. Crews are still working to get everyone back online.

WMUR reports this is now the 5th worst storm-related power outage in New Hampshire's history.

Even the WOKQ studios were affected. We lost power and had to use our back-up generator. Plus, one of the tress near the parking lot got uprooted!
