Honestly if you just cook up some ground hamburger with a little cayenne, the hot dog police aren't going to arrest you for fraud. If you don't like it spicy, put in some brown sugar instead.

I got this recipe idea from someone (who shall remain anonymous) that lived in the extreme Northeast corner of upstate New York and these 'Michigan' dogs are a local delicacy. In my humble opinion, I think they that fit our New England tastebuds to a tee!
