The nationwide average for an ounce of high quality marijuana is $324, but where do New Hampshire's prices fall?

The marijuana business is pretty complex for selling a product that makes it difficult to do simple tasks like opening a bag of chips (or smiling without looking weird in public.)

Forbes took it upon themselves to clear the smoke-filled air by looking into the economics of the marijuana industry. The website ranked each state by the average cost of marijuana sold within its borders sourced from PriceofWeed.com.

The nationwide average for an ounce of some "good stuff" is $324. New Hampshire's weed prices are slightly higher at an average of $351.

Not surprisingly, legalization plays a big role in the economics of weed. The four states that have legalized or decriminalized marijuana (Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Alaska) has seen their prices fall below $300 an ounce.

Oregon has the cheapest weed at $204 an ounce, while North Dakota leads the high-priced goods with an average of $387.

The New Hampshire Senate will vote this Thursday on whether to decriminalize marijuana in the state. The bill received huge support from the NH House, but Governor Maggie Hassan and the Senate have not been keen on the green.

If New Hampshire decriminalizes, or even legalizes, marijuana in the near future it might be good news for thrifty drug-users. The dealers may not be happy with a price drop, but I'm sure they will find some way to relax.
