If not, they might want to think about moving to the Granite State.

As I write this, the winner of last Saturday's $487 million dollar jackpot has yet to come forward. Perhaps the reason is that they are preparing to move to the Granite State.

There is certainly incentive to do just that. New Hampshire's gambling tax was repealed a few years back, meaning all New Hampshire lottery winners don't pay state taxes.

In this case, being a NH resident would save the winner more than $20 million. This is in comparison to what they might pay in states that border NH where a 5% tax is billed to lottery winnings.

Add this little fact to the many reasons why New Hampshire is a great place to live. Even if it's only for the amount of time it takes to pick up a $487 million dollar prize.
