It seems like everyone in the world is online, but that is far from true. There are many regions that don't have internet connectivity. Facebook aims to change that by developing a solar powered drone that can fly for three months straight.

They have named the drone, 'Aquila.' 'Aquila' will beam data to a base station on the ground using a laser. The drone will fly above 60,000 feet.

There will be a linked network of drones in the sky to provide internet access to larger areas.

These drones will be huge, with a 46 yard wingspan. That's almost half a football field!

'Aquila' will be launched using helium balloons because it doesn't have wheels or the ability to climb to it's expected cruising altitude.

I'm not sure how the landing of these drones will work or when they will reach the sky, but this is incredible technology.

Let's hope these drones don't get hacked. That could be a bit scary.
