There’s no need to keep ketchup in the fridge. Not only does it contain vinegar, but tomatoes are naturally acidic, and this helps to preserve the product in ambient (room temperature) conditions. - Registered Dietician Dr. Schenker -  VIA 'Which?' Magazine

As we know, there is quite a difference between OLDE England and New England and our Facebook survey has registered NINETEEN people out of 27 that adamantly need their ketchup refrigerated.

However, a few people are just as passionate that the flavor is much more robust and full when it is left at room temperature.

It's helpful to know that with the acidic elements that make up ketchup, you don't have to worry about it spoiling for about two months!
