It's always a good idea to check in with The NH Audubon website and see what kind of rare birds have been 'spotted' locally. One of my favorites is the sandpiper. There are many different types that can be found right now in NH.

The solitary sandpiper (above) is beautiful and has recently been seen all around The Greater Rochester region known more commonly as Gonic!

I was surprised to see that it wasn't on the current NH Audubon list, but many other species of Sandpiper have, such as The Least, The Semipalmated and The Pectoral Sandpiper as well.

If you have spied a Sandpiper near your property, take a quick look here to identify this sleek and stunning shorebird.
