This 10-Mile-Long Maine Yard Sale Needs To Be Experienced

As a guy who grew up in Maine, I can tell you that we take our yard sales very seriously.

This was especially true up in Aroostook County.  Going "yard-saling" was not just something you did on a sunny weekend because you were bored.  Nope!  You prepared and made a plan before going to yard sales or flea markets.  You knew where you were planning to go and you always left the house early.  You had to be out of the house by eight because you wanted to make sure you get the pick of the best stuff.

If you love the adventure of shopping at yard sales, you need to check out the longest yard sale in Maine, possibly the longest yard sale in the country!

The Cornville 10-Mile Yard Sale

According to the event's Facebook page, the 2026 Cornville 10 Mile Yard Sale will happen from May 15 through May 17.  The sale will be open from 8 AM to 5 PM each day, rain or shine.  The event typically runs along a 10-mile loop down Route 150 to Skowhegan and back up West River Road.

The event started in 1980s with just a few people participating, but grew immensely over time.  Now, it doesn't just cover Cornville, but also encompasses Athens and Skowhegan.

Normally, Nelson's Candies on West Ridge Road in Cornville takes part in the event.   You can always check out their website for updates on what they're up to.
