I Have a Really Good Idea For Roger Goodell and the NFL
For decades, the day after the Super Bowl has been a really rough one for millions of Americans.
Regardless of whether or not our favorite team is in the big game, we still stay up late to watch the game. On top of that, we often drink more than our fair share of adult beverages and eat foods that are likely to cause a nearly atomic reaction in our digestive systems.
All this combined makes for a rough Monday at work or school (for the younger football fans).
Is there a solution?
Over the years, there have been a lot of talk about making the day after the Super Bowl a national holiday. I think most of us would be okay with that, but that would require adding another holiday.
I think I have found a better solution!
Let's Play the Super Bowl on Presidents' Day Weekend
Instead of creating a brand new holiday, why not change the schedule to always play the game on an existing holiday?
As the sphere of influence of 'American Football' continues to grow, with more and more games being played internationally, why not add an optional week of games played outside the United States?
No one would be against getting more games in the season, would they?
Alternatively, they could just, when necessary, add an additional week between the AFC/NFC games and the Super Bowl.
If you are really into football, and already looking at the next season, you may already realize that this is how Super Bowl 61 will line up. The game will be played on Valentines' Day and the day after will be Presidents' Day.
