Even though food trucks have been around for almost as long as there have been trucks, they have really "grown up" in the last few decades.

Back in the 80s and 90s, food trucks basically served burgers, dogs, chicken tenders, and french fries.

Now, you can get nearly any kind of food imaginable from a food truck.  Yes, they still have chicken tenders, but you can also get tacos, jerk chicken, Thai food, pizza, and more.

To go along with all these new trucks serving a variety of food, we are not seeing food truck parks become popular.  Basically, they are a food truck version of a mall's food court.  It gives people the option of getting food from a handful, if not dozens, of great food trucks.

When it comes to food truck parks in New England, the undisputed king is Congdon's After Dark.

What is Congdon's After Dark?

Located at Congdon's Doughnuts on Route 1 in Wells, Maine, Congdon's After Dark is a massive food truck park.

The event features between 6 and 10 amazing food trucks each night.  There is also a beer garden serving up beers and other adult beverages.  The food truck park also frequently features live music from some of the area's best musicians.

When do they open for the 2026 season?

Well, we are not entirely sure.  They have not set an official opening date, but we do know that in 2025 they opened for the season on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend.  If that remains true this year, they will open for the season on Friday, May 22nd.

They were open 4+ nights per week throughout the the late spring and summer months.  Typically, these close for the season following Labor Day weekend.

Currently, they are in the process of lining up food trucks for the upcoming tenth season of the park.  If you have a food truck and have an interest in being a part of this event, you can get additional details from the Congdon's website.
