This winter, downtown Belfast, Maine will once again come alive with icy artistry and community spirit during the Belfast Ice Festival, happening February 27–March 1, 2026 in downtown Belfast.

The festival invites visitors of all ages to explore the charm of Belfast while enjoying more than five spectacular ice sculptures displayed throughout the town. Talented ice carvers will participate in live ice carving demonstrations and the annual State of Maine Ice Carving Championship, offering a unique chance to watch beautiful works of art come to life from blocks of ice.

Families are especially welcome, with a variety of kids events and family-friendly activities planned throughout the weekend. Past festivals have featured hot cocoa stations with coloring tables, interactive outdoor fun, and other seasonal activities that make it a memorable experience for children.
