What can we say, from our sports teams to our food options, we like being the best.

For the second year in a row, the state of Massachusetts has nabbed the top spot for Best State to Live In, according to WalletHub. The state is joined by only one other New England state in the top five, and I’m sorry to say, Rhode Island, it’s not you.

Massachusetts Ranks #1 for Best State to Live In

While Massachusetts ranked 44th for Affordability, it ranked 1st for Education and Health. With other factors involved, like Quality of Life and Safety, the Bay State earned a total score of 60.52, earning itself the number one spot for the second year in a row.

“Massachusetts is the best state to live in, due in large part to its strong health care system and high-quality education,” said WalletHub.

97.3% of its residents have health insurance and the state has the fourth-best high school graduation rate in the country at over 90%.

Florida came in second place with a total score of 59.82. It has Quality of Life to thank for that.

Rhode Island fell to the middle of the pack with a score of 51.99, placing the state 28th in the entire country.

There are days when Massachusetts may not feel “perfect”, but compare it to other states with these numbers in mind, and you’ll find the grass may be a little greener on our side.
