The Maine Restaurant That Feels Like Stepping Back in Time
Okay, if you love old-school everything, I have a restaurant you must know about.
Sitting pretty along Atlantic Highway in Waldoboro is Moody’s Diner, and walking in feels a little like stepping into another era, when road trips meant stopping somewhere for a real meal, ordering way too much food and probably leaving with a piece of pie.
This Maine Diner Makes You Feel Like You Are Stepping Into The Past
Moody’s has been a Maine family tradition since 1927. So we’re talking nearly 100 years of feeding hungry Mainers, road-trippers and probably approximately a billion people who popped in for a quick bite and never left.
And I love that even the menu pays tribute to its roots right?
With a photo of founders Bertha and Percy Moody, you can tell that this was created from love.
The menu itself is exactly what you want from a classic Maine diner, breakfast favorites, comfort food, seafood, sandwiches and homemade desserts.
And there are enough options that you’re not sitting there for 20 minutes having an existential crisis over what to order. And yes, of course they have Moxie.
But honestly, I think my favorite part is just the feeling of the place.
You can look around and imagine families stopping at Moody’s decades

Almost 100 years later, Moody’s is still here.
And sometimes the best Maine experiences aren't brand new. They're the ones that have been quietly doing their thing all along.
