13 Funny April Fools’ Day Posts From Maine in 2026 You Have to See
April Fools' Day is back for 2026, and with it come the jokes and the pranks, whether you love them or not.
There were a number of amusing social media posts from Maine businesses, police departments, and more, playing into the fun of April 1.
Be honest. Did you fall for any of these?
Palace Playland
Old Orchard Beach's iconic Palace Playland shared in March that it is getting a new roller coaster called Gold Rush for 2026.
But it was the April 1 "newest attraction" Facebook announcement for its Wave Pool Extreme that made a big splash.
How does having a waterslide on the pier heading straight into the ocean sound? Sounds like it could be a lot of fun if it was real...
Sam's Italian Foods
Would you be willing to eat the SpaghettiOs Pizza Supreme?
Sam's Italian Foods joked in a Facebook post that it was introducing a new pizza you could enjoy.
Honestly, though? Some pretty unique pizzas have already been crafted, like the Blueberry Haze pizza at Fairgrounds Pizza & Pub in Cornish, so would it be too crazy for a SpaghettiOs one?
Frank's Bakery & Custom Catering
Frank's Bakery & Custom Catering in Bangor shared the "news" that it was stopping its scratch-made bakery items and going for some store-bought mixes.
Frank's Ahoy looks pretty similar to some other cookie brand...
Maine Community Bank
Maine Community Bank, which has over 20 branches across the state, decided its April Fools' Day joke would be to let its ATMs give out candy.
Yes, sometimes you do need a "sweet withdrawal."
Maine Turnpike Authority
The Maine Turnpike Authority decided to call out a solution to the state's pothole problem: filling them with lobster.
Can you imagine how many lobsters they would have to get?
Northeast Periodontal Associates
Northeast Periodontal Associates in Bangor joked about its new Maine-inspired toothpaste line in a Facebook post.
Not sure I'd want the clam chowder or lobster flavored options. But blueberry? Hmmm.
Peak Nutrition
Peak Nutrition in Farmington shared a Facebook post that their April Fools' Day joke was that they were closed.
Oh, and that their tea of the day was Hotdog Water. You know, that little bit of water left in the pack of hot dogs.
That does not sound like a drink that would have any fans.
Pleasant Mountain Maine
Pleasant Mountain Maine in Bridgton had a joke update about a new gondola coming for the next ski season.
You might have mistaken this one for real, but the whole "no permits" should have caught your eye.
Still, panoramic views, heated cabins, and Wi-Fi sound nice.
Marginal Way
The Ogunquit official chambers Facebook page shared its funny Facebook post about a Marginal Way tolll.
I'd prefer the 2025 April Fools' Day update of a moving walkway instead, please.
Three Rivers Whitewater Rafting
Three Rivers Whitewater Rafting in West Forks shared a Facebook post that took things to a whitewater extreme: a "revolutionary, high-octane UPSTREAM RAPID CHALLENGE."
No need to go with the flow on this one. Can you imagine taking a twin-engine, turbo-charged jet boat on the river?
Clinton Police Department
The Clinton Police Department decided to replace one of its officers with a duck. Yup, a duck.
According to the April Fools' Day Facebook post, the quacked-up change highlights a new cop who does not talk much, appears judgmental, and, based on the meeting, already has support from inside the department.
Will he team up with the Bangor Duck of Justice at some point?
The Lunch Table
The Lunch Table in Lewiston shared a new dining experience that you won't want to let slip through your fingers.
In their April 1 Facebook post, they decided to announce a reduction of dishes by serving soup directly into customers' hands.
Don't like it? No soup for you!
Portland Old Port
Portland Old Port also got in on the fun with its creative choice to replace the Portland Reny's with a Dave & Buster's.
Did this one get you? Did you fall for it?
