If you're a Portland local then you know the pain that came with the 2019 news that Brian Boru would permanently be closing. These following businesses had that same affect.

Henry VIII Carvery Permanently Closed

Man, I used to LOVE Henry VIII Carvery in Kittery. It's an unassuming sandwich shop which are always the best.

Back in February 25' we had to lay sir Henry to rest. Not the human just the shop. RIP.

Pop's Place Windham

Out in Windham Maine was a cute place called Pop's Place that my friends and I would hit before or after a wild boat day on Sebago. It wasn't a complete black-out Saturday in Maine if you didn't start it with sausage gravy from Pop's.

Party City South Portland

Okay, I understand that these have been falling left and right around the world since 2023, that's no secret. But for South Portland the Party City was always a fun "just for the hell of it" stop after going to Petco. RIP.

Why is party city going bankrupt?

FoxBusiness explains that after 40 years, Party City has officially declared a second bankruptcy. Due to inflation amongst many other hardships, they just couldn't pull out of it this time (thank you social media influencers).

Think about it like this. Social media influencers are selling their own party items online now that are more customizable and accessible. I'll say it...I haven't gone to a Party City in years so I'm not crying over this one hehe.
