There's a lot of emotion tied to this. At first, it's jaw-dropping because you've never really seen anything like this before. Then it kicks in that a family may have just lost everything they knew in their home forever, and it becomes very sad.

As you may have known, Maine has recently been battling some major flooding after a severe storm ripped through the state last Monday, January 8, 2024. It left us in a state of emergency.

The storm quickly turned very serious. So serious that a whole house was uprooted, and floated to shore:

Our studios are located at One City Center, which is right in downtown Portland. So while most of us were working, we also watched our little city become a swimming pool. The coastline near the water had it the worst, of course, and was scary to watch at times.

I took a stroll down to the Portland pier to find waves crashing through the boardwalk at a speedy rate. If most of the pier wasn't fully engulfed with water, it was certainly about to be. My heart goes out to all the families and businesses that are still being effected by the damages this storm left.
