4 Restaurants Chains That Should Make a Comeback in Maine
If once you fail, you should try again. That isn't always the case when it comes to chain restaurants. Their expansion plans don't always work out and very rarely do you see a restaurant chain return to a city or a state where it has failed.
But it does happen occasionally. The reasoning? Perhaps when the restaurant first opened, the area simply wasn't ready or wasn't familiar enough with the brand for it to work out.
With that in mind, here are 4 restaurant chains that should consider making a comeback in Maine.
The Ground Round is Starting a Real Comeback
That isn't a misprint. One of the most notorious restaurant chain downfalls is ready to try again. The Ground Round has opened a brand new restaurant in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, and if it goes well, it won't be the last.
Once upon a time, the Ground Round had several restaurants scattered throughout Maine, including a long-lasting one that only recently closed. Many of the Ground Rounds were quite popular. It could happen again.
Outback Steakhouse Could Come Back to Maine From Down Under
Chances are you're still seeing television or internet commercials involving Outback Steakhouse despite the fact that there hasn't been an Outback location in Maine since 2012.
13 years later, Outback Steakhouse is as strong a chain restaurant as there is in America. While it didn't work out the first time in Maine, it might fare better if the chain decides to give it another shot.
Cinnabon is Once Again Growing Their Restaurant Chain
Typically reserved for airports or malls, Cinnabon seemed like a chain that was destined for failure more than a decade ago. Instead, Cinnabon found their groove and continues to expand.
Believe it or not, Maine is one of the few states in the country that isn't home to a single Cinnabon locations. While it failed at the Maine Mall once before, a new Cinnabon location at the mall could have legs this time around.
Baskin Robbins Would Probably Crush in Some Areas of Maine
If you travel outside of New England, there's something you'll notice pretty quickly. That there are a whole lot of Baskin Robbins locations around the country. Nearly 8,000, in fact. Many of them share space with a New England icon, Dunkin'.
Baskin Robbins has tried a couple of stand alone shops in Maine that haven't worked out. But in areas of Maine where there are not year-round ice cream stands available, it's a bit surprising there aren't combined Dunkin' and Baskin Robbins locations ready to serve up sweet treats.
