Adam Sandler is definitely a hometown hero in New Hampshire, especially in the Queen City. We practically have a parade every time he comes back home to visit his mom Judy who still calls Manchester home.

I'll never forget when he brought his comedy tour to the SNHU arena in 2022, he had the entire crowd sing happy birthday to his mom who was in the audience. It was a pretty special moment.

We love the Sanman for a multitude of reasons.

The first is because of all of the cinematic treasures he has given us over the years. In my house we still quote Big Daddy, Happy Gilmore, and Billy Madison on the regular as if those movies just came out. In more recent years he has showcased his dramatic acting skills with films like Hustle and Uncut Gems. He can do it all!

Adam Sandler's loyalty to New Hampshire

The second reason is because he has seemingly never forgotten where he came from. Every time he is is spotted out in the wild in Manchester he treats his fans graciously and with respect. He goes out of his way to give back to local businesses when he visits and makes everyone who graces his path feel important and worthy of his time.

My one thing in common with Adam Sandler

Adam Sandler has mentioned many times that the Red Arrow diner was his late father's favorite restaurant. If you ever been to the Red Arrow in Manchester, you know that many of the booths are labeled with a famous person who has sat there at one point. Of course there is a booth where Sir Sandler's cheeks once graced.

And though I am not the same caliber of celebrity as the great Sanman, I too have a booth at the Red Arrow diner where I once sat and broadcasted our morning show on WOKQ.

It feels my heart with absolute glee to have this in common with Adam Sandler.

A part of Adam having hometown pride is he is true to himself no matter what. At this point in his career he could wear the fanciest and most expensive designer clothing available. But he doesn't. Even though he is a millionaire many times over, you can still spot him walking down the street dressed like a homeless guy and eating pickles right out of the jar. That is just who he is. And we love him for that!

At the Oscars most people bust out their absolute finest attire to strut their stuff down the red carpet. But Adam Sandler, once again, stayed true to himself and his brand by rocking his quintessential look: basketball shorts paired with his softest zip up hoodie and sneakers.

The host Conan O'Brien called him out in his monologue and shamed him for his attire. Adam responded by saying nobody would have even noticed his outfit if he didn't point it out. He stormed out (in a hilarious and not at all serious way) but not before he got into Timothy Chalamet's face and yelled "CHALAMET" in his classic Sanman voice as a call back to his joke at the Golden Globes.

The whole thing was hysterical, I've watched it several times. It was definitely a highlight of the night. Just another Adam Sandler moment to make the people of New Hampshire yell with pride and say "that's our boy!"
